The hospital is a 260 bed secondary general facility with full range of medical and surgical services including 24/7 emergency department. It supports three small satellite hospitals across the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand.
Position Highlights:
- Department of Anaesthesia is the largest department within the Surgical Service in Northland providing a 24/7 service to two hospitals.
- 30 Specialist Anaesthetists, together with Anaesthetic SHOs and Registrars who rotate from the Auckland region as part of their training provide the anaesthesia service.
- 8 operating theatres and a procedure room co-located in the operating theatre suite, as well as a 2-room endoscopy suite.
- wide range of surgical sub-specialties and all emergency surgery for the region.
