Position Highlights
- work with NZ’s largest and highly specialised community based laboratory service and to be a part of a growing area of pathology (dermatopathology)
- lab provides services to private specialists and general practitioners with up to 500 histology specimens received per day, and a further 15-20 for non-gynaecological cytology.
- specimens cover a wide range of subspecialties in the areas of skin, gastroenterological, gynaecological, breast, head and neck, respiratory and urological pathology
- this service also provides the cervical screening programme (about 400 samples a day) for the Auckland area with about 30 gynaecological cytology smears requiring pathologist review each day
- work up top 50 hours per week, on call and rostered hours
- expertise in dermatopathology or an interest in developing skills in this subspeciality
- lab is RCPA accredited for fellowship in dermatopathology
- no autopsy requirement
- FRCPA or equivalent specialist qualification
- eligibility for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- an interest in dermatopathology
- Competitive remuneration package based upon level of experience and qualifications comprising basic salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 350,000 PA based upon ASMS agreement
- Refund of medical practice expenses
- Superannuation 6%
