Position Highlights
- premier public sector hospital, 360 beds, level 2 hospital
- participate in all aspects of service provision in the Level 2 ICU.
- provide a high standard of general intensive care to adults, including complex multi-system life support and transfer to a tertiary provide when outside of the hospital’s capabilities.
- ICU is capable of providing mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy and invasive cardiovascular monitoring for an indefinite period providing appropriate specialty support is available within the hospital.
- manage critically ill children alongside Paediatricians until tertiary level paediatric care service is required.
- provide effective, efficient and professional clinical intensive care/high dependency unit services to all ages on a shared, rostered 24-hour basis including weekends and public holidays.
- located in a region with an excellent lifestyle, native bush, beautiful lakes and rivers, unique geothermal landscapes and some of the best mountain biking and walking/running trails in NZ.
- Medical Degree recognised by WHO
- Fellowship of College of Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent specialist qualification
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration
- Salary ASMS scale plus allowances
- 6 weeks annual leave
