Seeking a consultant in intensive care medicine for a full time permanent position with a regional general hospital in one of New Zealand's most popular cities. 

Position Highlights
  • premier public sector hospital, 360 beds, level 2 hospital
  • participate in all aspects of service provision in the Level 2 ICU.
  • provide a high standard of general intensive care to adults, including complex multi-system life support and transfer to a tertiary provide when outside of the hospital’s capabilities.
  • ICU is capable of providing mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy and invasive cardiovascular monitoring for an indefinite period providing appropriate specialty support is available within the hospital.
  • manage critically ill children alongside Paediatricians until tertiary level paediatric care service is required.
  • provide effective, efficient and professional clinical intensive care/high dependency unit services to all ages on a shared, rostered 24-hour basis including weekends and public holidays.  
  • located in a region with an excellent lifestyle, native bush, beautiful lakes and rivers, unique geothermal landscapes and some of the best mountain biking and walking/running trails in NZ.
Professional Requirements
  • Medical Degree recognised by WHO 
  • Fellowship of College of Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for vocational or provisional vocational registration
