Seeking a consultant nephrologist for a full time 100 % nephrology job in a general hospital just 30 minutes flight from Auckland. 

Position Highlights
  • permanent full time contract with a 260 bed public sector hospital
  • 40 hour working week plus on call duties
  • provide Specialist Nephrology services including medical assessments on patients with end stage renal failure, supervision of  patient care on ESRF programmes, and assessment and management of patients with kidney diseases. 
  • perform renal biopsy and tunnelled dialysis line insertion
  • excellent remuneration package with visa and relocation package
  • RACP accredited department
The main hospital is a 260 bed secondary general hospital with full range of medical and surgical services including 24/7 emergency department. It supports three small satellite hospitals across the Northland region of the North Island of New Zealand. 
 
The area of Northland is a forested, subtropical region on New Zealand's North Island, framed by the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea. A subtropical wonderland of islands, marine life, kauri forests and Māori myths and legends, Northland is an incredible place to live.

Requirements:
  • FRACP or an equivalent qualification
  • Expertise in nephrology 
  • Eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in Internal Medicine as primary speciality with nephrology as a subspeciality
  Remuneration  
  1. salary paid in accordance with national pay scales for senior medical officers (NZ$ 190,000 -270,000 pa), basic 40 hour week
  2. Additional allowances for on call duties
  3. Pension benefits (if eligible)
  4. Study leave allowance
  5. No National Insurance deductions
  6. reimbursement of costs of obtaining medical licence and APC
  7. relocation package for international candidates
  8. on-going professional support including continued medical education; professional development and peer review
