We are seeking an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join a team working in a secondary care setting. This post is suitable for newly qualified as well as more experienced physicians and would suit a physician focused on obstetric practice.

Position Highlights:
  • a permanent full-time position offering a competitive remuneration package with relocation allowances for overseas applicants
  • located in the stunning Bay of Plenty, a favoured location
  • Secondary care hospital, 360 beds, tertiary support in Auckland.
  • 40 hour week plus an equal share of the on-call roster, covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • current average call frequency is 1:9 with split weekends.
  • Outpatient/Daytime responsibilities include Antenatal clinics, Gynaecology and colposcopy clinics and Theatre when not on call.
  • Cover is provided by 8 Registrars and 4 SHO’s on a common roster with a requirement to participate in teaching, service development and clinical governance. 
  • Facilities include a 21-bed inpatient maternity ward, 7 delivery rooms and 12 bed SCBU. Gynaecology is on a shared surgical ward.

The Bay of Plenty is a large region along the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches 260 kilometres from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east. The Bay of Plenty region is home to spectacular beaches, juicy kiwifruit and geothermal wonders.

Requirements for this job
  • FRANZCOG or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
Remuneration
  • Basic salary plus additional on call and out of hours allowances NZD 250000-400000 PA
  • Study allowance
