We are seeking a Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine for a fixed term 12 month appointment commencing August 2025 to cover annual and sabbatical leave.
Position Highlights:

- practice General Medicine in addition to general Respiratory Medicine (with areas of specialty interest).
- help innovate and integrate Respiratory/Internal Medicine services across secondary and primary care.
- Improving respiratory health for Māori patients is a key focus.
- practice includes acute and planned care services, teaching, mentoring junior teams, as well as undertaking administrative responsibilities.
- 40 hour working week plus on call duties
- 360 bed hospital providing 24 hour elective and emergency medical and surgical services. The local tertiary referral centre is Auckland.
The Bay of Plenty is a large region along the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches 260 kilometres from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east. The Bay of Plenty region is home to spectacular beaches, juicy kiwifruit and geothermal wonders.

Requirements for this job
- Qualified Internist and Respiratory Physician with FRACP or equivalent qualification
- Vocational or Locum Tenens Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Basic salary plus additional on call and out of hours allowances NZD 250000-400000 PA
