Seeking a consultant general medicine physician / internist for a full time, permanent position with a secondary care hospital in the southern region of New Zealand's North Island.

Position Highlights
  • 35-bed medical unit providing General Medical services 
  • 40 hour week plus on call rota
  • inpatient management with ward rounds
  • 2 out patient clinics and ECG stress clinic per week
  • opportunities for additional clinics if desired and also the ability for candidates with dual training to negotiate a sub-speciality practice.
  • support other departments within the hospital, providing support and advice to the emergency department and critical care units.
  • Supporting Registrars and Resident Medical Officers, you will be able to draw on support from the link with Wellington's training programme and will serve as a mentor for these more junior physicians.

Remuneration and Benefits

In addition to joining a highly-skilled and dedicated team in a picturesque part of the North Island, you will receive an attractive remuneration package of $316,252 - $405,775 plus 6% Kiwi Saver.

Professional Requirements
  •  completed your residency/ registrar training in Internal Medicine and are a fellow of The Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or hold an equivalent specialist qualification
  • eligible to hold vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ as a Physician.
