Seeking a PGY3 house officers for full time positions with a secondary care hospital in the southern region of New Zealand's North Island. Starting January 2025, in Relief covering absences across the hospital

Position Highlights
  • 138 bed - Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) secondary hospital.
  • hospital serves a population of approximately 60,000, performing 4,000 procedures annually in three elective theatres and one acute theatre.
  • more than 50 RMOs working in General Medicine, Mental Health, Emergency, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, O&G, Paediatrics, Anaesthetic Departments and as Relievers.
  • these positions do include night and weekend shifts on a rotating roster.
  • busy 15 bed Emergency Department, 5 bed Acute Assessment unit, and a 6 bed critical care unit
  • approximately 25,000 emergency department attendances annually.
  • access to the hospital's comprehensive range of services and state-of-the-art technology, contributing to the delivery of personalized care to the community.

Remuneration and Benefits

In addition to joining a highly-skilled and dedicated team in a picturesque part of the North Island, you will receive an attractive remuneration package of $100,000 - $200,000 plus 6% Kiwi Saver.

Professional Requirements
  • Medical Degree
  • Minimum 2 years postgraduate experience
  • eligible to hold general registration with the Medical Council of NZ 
  • UK applicants will need to have completed foundation years 1 & 2.
