- 40 hour week plus on call duties
- FTE post in a large, secondary level, 400-bed accredited public facility providing acute and elective care for a region of over 176,000 people.

- The Mental Health and Addictions Service comprises: a 23 bed inpatient unit; an Emergency Mental Health Service, Home Based Treatment Team, community teams for Napier and Hastings, specialist Child and Adolescent, Older Persons, Consultation-Liaison, Early Intervention and Maternal Mental Health teams. Most of these teams include opportunities for registrars.
- The medical team has positions for 7 Registrars, 2 House Officers and 14 Senior Medical Officers who are deployed across the service.
- Working under the direction and supervision of a Senior Medical Officer, you will enjoy a wide variety of inpatient cases and will be required to undertake assessments, make diagnoses and develop treatment and management plans in consultation with the patient and their family or whanau.
- training and non-training roles available:
- Training role - expected that the successful candidate will be interviewed and approved by the Lower North Island Director of Training and RANZCP to train in psychiatry (whether that be advanced or basic) based in Wellington.
- Non-training role – happy to commence in an unaccredited position, but could move to an accredited position if you join the training programme.
- Medical degree
- PGY3 + experience
- Eligibility for general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
